Uganda: Koriang Murder Story Makes Me Feel Guilty

Recently, Ugandan newspapers carried a story about Judith Koriang, 20, who was sentenced to death by the Court Martial in Soroti in connection with the murder of her soldier-husband Nelson Okello.

According to the story, Koriang shot her husband with 30 bullets. She was said to have been infuriated by a recurrent nagging by Okello after she was found to be HIV positive yet the husband was HIV negative. I'm sure that with proper pre and post-test counselling, such cases though may not be eradicated entirely, could be minimised.
