The British official chairing the board of a scandal-hit UN agency has said its leaders have “no appetite” for pursuing action over specific sexual harassment allegations. The Independent can reveal the comment was allegedly made by the top civil servant chairing the UNAIDS coordinating board, in a phone call with a leading international women’s rights campaigner.

Antiretroviral shortage reaches 100% in Venezuela

Alberto Nieves, executive director of Acción Ciudadana Contra el SIDA (ACCSI) says: "By March 2018, the shortage of antiretroviral drugs reached 100% in Venezuela, which It is affecting more than 80 thousand people with HIV." Four of the 27 licensed antiretrovirals were still in stock but not ones necessary to construct viable combination therapy.

Launched today, the Community Consensus Statement is a basic set of principles aimed at making sure that happens.
