Regional initiative whose goal is to build the competence of communities to respond to HIV/AIDS effectively. Support is provided through partnerships with community groups in Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe, and wider networking, skills exchange and lesson sharing throughout the region and internationally. SAT supports over 170 partners made up of implementing partners that include CBOs/NGOs, support groups and networks that receive capacity development grants. School Without Walls partners include community-level organisations that attend SAT’s skills training workshops or organisations with the skills to facilitate training or host study visits. Strategic partners include NGOs, regional or global networking organisations, research institutions and donors. SAT partners work in prevention, care and support, impact mitigation, information exchange, advocacy, linking issues of HIV/AIDS, gender, human and child rights.
