Description
Science Council involved in health and medical research. Maintains the AfroAIDSInfo (www.afroaidsinfo.org) portal for HIV and AIDS information in southern Africa. Includes the South African AIDS Vaccine Initiative (SAAVI) and the South African HIV Vaccine Action Campaign (SAHIVAC). The Council also undertakes various research projects related to HIV and AIDS research either reactively as per National Department of Health directive or in collaboration with other institutions.

Launched today, the Community Consensus Statement is a basic set of principles aimed at making sure that happens.

The Community Consensus Statement is a joint initiative of AVAC, EATG, MSMGF, GNP+, HIV i-Base, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, ITPC and NAM/aidsmap
