Informal solutions

Published: 28 July 2010

If an employee feels that they are being discriminated against, it’s usually worth trying to resolve the problem informally in the first instance.

Employees are recommended to try:

  • talking openly to the line manager about their needs

  • asking the human-resources department, informally at first, for advice

  • making practical and constructive suggestions for solutions to problems

  • keeping a record of what is said at relevant meetings or discussions, and keeping a copy of any relevant emails or letters

  • if the manager is not easy to talk to, asking for help from someone in the human-resources department, occupational-health department or trade union, or from a trusted colleague

  • finding out about relevant company policies from the human-resources department or employee handbook.

Community Consensus Statement on Access to HIV Treatment and its Use for Prevention

Together, we can make it happen

We can end HIV soon if people have equal access to HIV drugs as treatment and as PrEP, and have free choice over whether to take them.

Launched today, the Community Consensus Statement is a basic set of principles aimed at making sure that happens.

The Community Consensus Statement is a joint initiative of AVAC, EATG, MSMGF, GNP+, HIV i-Base, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, ITPC and NAM/aidsmap
